How To Repair Macbook Power Adapter

If you are a Macbook user and have gotten into an issue with your laptop’s adapter, then there are quite a few things that you can do before you actually go into an Apple store and get a new adaptor for yourself. I do recommend that you do so and that should be the first thing that comes to your mind. I do understand that you may be low on cash and are cannot spare any cash for the same this month but still need your laptop to be functioning. In that case you need to take care of it yourself. Here are some of the things that you can do to help your situation.

Mac

Cover the cracks in the cord

The cord of the adapter may have cracks in it and that maybe disrupting the proper functioning of the adapter and you will have to take care of that. All you need is some duct tape to cover all the cracks that are present in the cord and that will solve the issue, at least temporarily.

Unplug The Charger

The charger should be unplugged whenever no in use. One of the reasons behind this is overheating. There is a temperature sensor in the adapter that maintains the temperature of the charger but prolonged connection harms the charger. apart from that if the room is poorly ventilated, or there are too many cords attached to the mainline and that affects the charger.

So, you need to unplug it and let it cool off for a bit. You can later connect it back and charge it.

Replace The Cord

If the cord has come off, you need to take care of it and you will need to open the adapter, get another cord and solder it to the adapter before you shut the adapter. This is cheaper than getting a new adapter, but you need to be careful while you open and solder the new cord, or you may have to get another adapter.
